5 Things I Bought & Liked Because My Friend Christine Recommended Them ๐
My own personal TIBAL โจ๐๏ธ
Hi friends! This newsletter is (usually) a monthly-ish round-up of life things - what I'm enjoying, reading, learning, buying, doing, thinking about, and more. Today, Iโm sharing some items Iโve bought because my friend Christine raved about them. She has the best recommendations!
I know Iโm not alone in following TIBAL (@things.i.bought.and.liked) for shopping recommendations! There are all sorts of great people/accounts that curate home, fashion, beauty, and more recommendations, but nothing beats getting a tried and true recommendation from an IRL friend.
Iโve been good friends with Christine since our Edelman days in 2011/12 (?!), and weโve been through all sorts of professional and personal ups and downs together. Friendship that withstands many different life chapters/phases and changes are the best. I could go on and on about our friendship and share lots of good stories. One of the many things we bond over is our love of shopping. ๐ซถ๐ป She has GREAT recommendations, and Iโve never been disappointed by something sheโs recommended that Iโve bought. Today, I wanted to share a few of those items!
5 Things I Bought & Liked Because Christine Recommended Them
I shared about these high-waisted barrel pants in a recent newsletter - Iโm wearing them (in the plum color) as I type this up now. Christine raved about these to me, and she was so right - theyโre comfortable, versatile, easy, and affordable (you know Old Navy always has deals!). They are great for that in-between, what-size-am-I-today postseason season, too. I have them in two colors!
Iโve purchased and repurchased this Korres velvet skin drink after Christine recommended it to me years ago. It makes my skin look and feel so soft and hydrated. I just finished yet another bottle and need to buy again!
I saw Christineโs adorable son sitting in this cute portable booster chair for a beach picnic and was likeโฆI need that thing for Daisy! There are very few baby gear items Iโve purchased this time around, but Iโm so glad I bought this one! Itโs SO CUTE and is a perfect on-the-go chair for babies/toddlers at the park, beach, restaurants, backyard, etc. It comes with a tray, so it acts as a portable high chair and folds up into a little carrying bag too. There are SO many cute patterns/colors (see here); I bought the โPalomaโ pink flower-y one for Daisy. The last time we did a park picnic and Daisy was sitting in hers, another mom came over and asked about it for her baby, too. 10/10 recommend.
Iโm at the place in life where Iโm very much not interested in sexy underwear and want COMFORTABLE. Christine recommended the GAP Breathe line years ago, and thatโs been my go-to since. I prefer the high-rise thongs and the high-rise bikinis. By the way, I shared more crowdsourced underwear recommendations AND my own โfavorite underthingsโ on my blog a few years ago
A few months ago, I asked Christine for face wash recommendations and she told me about this micellar cleansing oil. Itโs great for removing makeup and making my face feel super clean. I usually use this then my regular face wash (current favorite is the Indie Lee Brightening one).
There are many, many other recommendations Christine has given me, but these are the five that come to mind and are worth re-sharing! Thank you, Christine, for being such a wonderful, longtime friend and also my personal shopping curator. ๐
P.S. Christine is launching her own newsletter soon! If youโre into really good shopping recommendations, absolutely subscribe to hers!
P.S.S. Her wedding in Mexico a few years ago was one of the most stunning and thoughtfully curated experiences of my life!
